5th year 1.-4.11. | Bio Oko
Kino Brasil is back! The driest month of the year was a little more bearable this year with a good dose of sunny Brazil on screen and warm sips of the best Brazilian coffee to go with it. Together with the summer cinema Bio Oko, we have prepared for you again this year (for the fifth time!) a four-day festival of the best that contemporary Brazilian cinema has to offer. And we promise that this year everyone will find something to do: lovers of Brazil, film enthusiasts and viewers who might just be driven to the cinema by bad weather.
Kino Brasil, these are the films that pulled you into the story and left you thinking about them for weeks. The festival also offered an interesting Brazilian-themed accompanying program, led by Friday's silent party for the first time directly in the cinema hall, tasting of selected Brazilian coffee and themed drinks. It was wonderful again!

Aos teus olhos
Does fear and hatred really have the capacity to spread as fast as the internet? A precise portrait of an on-line public lynching, today so common, brings us into a dilemma where both guilt and innocence are improvable.
Tropychaos
In Salvador da Bahia, the hottest summer in the last fifty years has paralyzed the city as the relentless beams of sun begin to affect and destroy its population. Guima, a talented young poet, is trying to survive in that hot city but he has an inappropriate body for it.
Bingo: O Rei Das Manhãs
In the 1980s, an era of unbound revelry in Brazil, the young, ambitious actor Augusto gets the role of Bingo, a TV host clown. Gradually, he becomes the most popular clown in the country, recognized in costume, but disguised under the wig and makeup as a regular common man only few people knew.
Benzinho
A large and lively family live on the outskirts of Rio. During heated days full of pranks and mutual teasing, Irene prepares for her son’s sudden departure abroad. This heartfelt film, about growing up too fast, maternal love, and family solidarity, garnered buzz at Sundance and Rotterdam.
About Animal Cordial
Assault! Armed raiders break into a luxury restaurant on the outskirts of the city. What awaits them is a much more bloodthirsty plot than they ever envisaged. Friendly Beast is a sophisticated thriller, which not only builds on the brilliant knowledge of the genre but also on human weaknesses and natural fears.
Ex-Pajé
The uncontacted tribe from Amazônia ‘Paiter Surui’ has been encroached by modernity since its first contact with the white man in 1969. In the midst of this new world, an ex-shaman struggles to cure the suffering people of his village, and faces the wrath of spirits of the forest, who are upset he has abandoned them.
